Race Cascadia: Cascadia Dirt Cup #3 - Yacolt, WA

September 18th brought the Race Cascadia crew down to Yacolt burn for the 3rd round of the 2021 Race Cascadia, Cascadia Dirt Cup.  248 riders braved the predicted inch of rain in the area and most ended the day in a partly cloudy day....before the lightning cut awards short.  Luckily the people of the PNW are a hardy sort, and a little rain didn't mean you couldn't have an absolute blast out on the trails. That and the trail builders hard work meant for a great day of racing, and at the end of the day Ingrid Larouche and Andrew Cavaye took home the pro wins.

Some riders are little more excited about rolling out in the rain than the others.

Ian Lujan on stage one, realizing goggles were of no help in the rain.

Brayden Buchanan unfortunately had a DNF, but was pushing hard on his way.

Keith Robert saving getting bucked on Thrillium.

Stomping in mud puddles is always fun.
Rinsing the mud out of the teeth!

Jameson Florence pulling hard at the end of Thrillium for a 4th in Expert 30-39.

When Aaron Bradford pulls the power wheelie you know he is going for it and having a blast!

Hazel Donnelly headed for the win in Sport Girls 12-14.

Teo Bergsma sprinting for the Stage 1 finish in the pouring rain.

Sopping wet....
That must have been a wild ride...

Noah Uphill took a little off trail excursion on Thrillium.

Ingrid Larouche enjoying the conditions.

Someone isn't so sure how this will go.
It wasn't about staying dry...but staying warm.
Drivetrain needs some love.
Maybe the least issues out of anyone with this drivetrain.

Andrew Cavaye on his way to the win.

Adam Roelofs putting down the power after making the pass.

The women getting their own dedicated beer cooler.

A huge thank you has to go out to the staff at EVO who have been providing neutral support at all of the CDCs.
Tools of the trade.

"Why the hell did you bring me here?!"

Medals for the podium that got rained out.

Unfortunately late a late day rain storm with lightning put an end to any chance for podiums.

Thanks to everyone that came out to play in the mud with us! Can't wait to see you all at Capitol Forest on October 2nd.
