Rumors abound about the potential closing of Ray's Indoor Mountain Bike Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ray's parks feature a wide variety of wood features, including skatepark sections, pumptracks, skinnies, cross-country loops, and more. Many see them as an incredible way to spend your days during the winter when most trails are otherwise unrideable.

Take a look back at some grand opening fun from Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee location was the second park to open following the success of the Cleveland, Ohio location. Both are owned and operated by Trek Bicycles, who purchased the parks in 2010.

Rumor or truth? Former employee David Barnett brought things to attention when he made this public post.

Trek replied to comments online by saying, “We’re not looking to close Ray’s. We’re actively looking for someone to take over the business so that it can stay open. There is some inaccurate information floating around, but we haven’t said we’re looking to close it.”

So what happens if they are unable to find someone to take over the business so that it can stay open?

In this OnMilwaukee news article, Trek indicated that no formal decision had been made, but that they are pursuing new ownership. "Since we don't own the building, it's very difficult to control the future of the park," said Eric Bjorling, a Trek employee.

Dozen's of ladies gather around during an annual Women's Weekend event.

Here's what you can do to help:

- Get in touch with Trek if owning an indoor bike park appeals to you. Dreams can come true, though it will clearly need some rethinking to make it profitable.
- Join the Ray's MTB and Trek Facebook pages, and let them know how much the park means to you.
- Better yet, plan a trip to visit the park if it reopens this fall, which is tentatively scheduled for October 8.
- Sign this petition. The Wisconsin Freeride Association started a call for Ray's to become a public park with the help of Milwaukee County and the Wisconsin Bike Federation. While unlikely, it shows support to keep Ray's alive.

Bring it to Las Vegas!!! in summer time is so hot 114F that is impossible to ride, and winter time, it would make it perfect for a quick mid day session...
