For 2015, Commencal is looking to meet the requirements of two different types of big bike riders: the park rats and the racers. For the chrono addicts, the company continues to refine its Supreme DH platform, now rolling on 650B wheels and with updated specs (there is also still a 26" version of the race-oriented Supreme, dubbed "Origin"). For the adepts of whips and bike park trips, the new Supreme DH Park gets shorter stays, slightly steeper angles, and 26" wheels - of course! Built to the specs of Commencal's resident freerider and Rampage veteran Pierre-Edouard Ferry, the Park version is built to offer playfulness and big hit capabilities where the Comp version looks for the fastest lines down the mountain. To each their own, Commencal say.
As we touched on in our coverage of the launch of the new Meta AM V4 earlier this year, the other major piece of news for the Andorran company is the creation of a US entity and a dedicated, direct-sales distribution model. Foregoing the traditional importers and retailers, Commencal is setting up shop stateside and will service the North American market itself. This means its entire range of bikes will be available for purchase online and at a significantly lower price point, and this as of the end of October (the company has been selling direct in other markets for some time already now). Full specs and both Euro and US prices of the new DH range are below - more information available at www.commencal.com.
